The first photo to the right of the text is during the 2016 Peachtree Road Race. I am an active long distance runner and this allows me to understand what others are going through while also keeping myself healthy.

The photos to the left of this text are from my visit at the institution where I plan to continue my education, Marquette University. These are displayed to show that you can be serious while working but you can still enjoy yourself and have fun with others. Work is not your whole life.

The photo above this text is from Medical Scholars at Brenau University. This is a program that occurs during your Junior year of high school. If accepted into the program, you are walked through an abundant amount of healthcare fields and get first hand experience. One of my favorite things to this day was working with a cadaver.

I am currently a Senior at WHHS and taking classes at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville.

Thanks to the Honors Mentorship Program offered, I am currently being mentored by David Witman PT of Atlanta Rehabilitation in Oakwood. Along with David, I also have the chance to work with Michael Gardner DPT, Jonathon Born AT, and many more people in the realm of therapy.

My daily routine is to make sure the equipment is organized and clean. Along with keeping things tidy, I do the laundry which consists of towels, gowns, pillow cases, hot pack holders, and a large assortment of things. When I am not cleaning, I am assisting David and Michael. I can be charting workouts for them, telling the patients what workouts to do, setting up workout equipment for the patients, making hot/cold packs, etc. I assist them in every way that I am allowed to.

In order to be a physical therapist, you must apply to physical therapy school after getting your bachelors. The vast majority of schools require you to have volunteer/work hours with a certified physical therapist and have them verified. As of today (3/26) I have 300+ hours. University of Texas - San Antonio has a minimum hour requirement of 50. Putting that into perspective, not only is the hands-on aspect allowing me to learn, but it's also allowing me to have my hours before my classmates and therefore, I can focus on my studies a bit more.
